The Lexis Create AI Assistant has been updated with a new design. The option to choose between using the open Word document or Lexis+ content for Ask, Draft, or Summarize tasks has been moved to the top for easier access. While the design has changed, the amazing functionality remains the same. This update provides a more streamlined experience.

Now with the new updated design, it is clear when something is tied to an active document vs. LexisNexis grounded data.

Findings Search Capability Added to Lex Machina

Lex Machina is introducing a new Findings search capability for federal district courts, utilizing the same search parameters already available in Cases search and Damage Awards search. You can now compile comprehensive lists of critical findings based on court, judge, party, practice area, finding name, and other criteria. Findings search results are displayed including Case, Docket Entry, Finding, relevant Judgment Event, and the parties to whom the findings was awarded in favor of and against. Lex Machina users can check out the new Findings search here.

Shepard's Signals Embedded in Cases & Statutes

Lexis Research now provides a toggle switch that streamlines legal research by displaying the Shepard's signal for cited cases directly within your document. This toggle switch, entitled Signals on case references, allows you to quickly assess the subsequent treatment and validity of cases you are interested in, without having to navigate away from the document.

When activated, the Shepard's signal for each cited case will be prominently displayed in the text of the full document and will remain available during your research session for both cases and statutes. This saves time and effort, enabling more efficient and informed legal research.

Pinpoint has recently expanded its number of practice areas from 8 to 45, providing more relevant content to attorneys in any practice area.

Customizable Dashboard

In addition to the expanded practice areas, Pinpoint now offers a customizable dashboard. Users now have the flexibility to choose the content types and information they want to see on their dashboard. This allows for a more personalized and flexible user experience.

From here, you can choose whatever information you want to see on your Pinpoint dashboard.

Brief Analysis Now Provides A.I. Generated Summaries for Uploaded Documents in Lexis+ AI

All Lexis+ AI users will now see A.I. generated summaries for uploaded documents on the “Recommendations” tab within Brief Analysis.

The summary will automatically be generated and will be the first thing users see at the top of the “Recommendations” tab. It will provide a concise summary of the document, including headings such as Statement of the Facts, Argument, etc.

Note: The summary will not be included in the other delivery options (print, email and download). However, the summary does have a copy button.

Lexis Snapshot on CourtLink Updates

Expanding its court coverage, Snapshot summaries are now available for select complaints in the Los Angeles County Superior Court! Snapshot customers will see summaries appear in both your alert emails and docket views, providing immediate insight into cases of interest.

You Can Now Pin Favorite Sources in Lexis+

You now have the ability to pin up to 30 favorite sources and see the last 5 recently viewed sources under the Sources tab. You can utilize this feature to customize sources and make legal research more efficient.

This new pinning functionality allows you to customize the Sources tab in Explore Content with the sources you use most often. Simply click the pin icon next to any source to add it to your pinned list. Your pinned sources will always appear to the right of the Sources tab for one-click access.

Currently, you can add up to 30 sources to your pinned sources list, and the last 5 sources you have accessed will appeared as “Recently Viewed Sources”.

There are four ways to pin a source:

From the Recently Viewed Sources (see image above)
From the Table of Contents of a source (Note you can only pin a full source and not a specific section of a source such as a chapter or a volume):

From the View Sources page:

From the Advanced Search of the source:

You can edit and unpin sources and you can move sources up and down on the list by clicking on “Edit”.

At this time, sources you have already saved as “Favorites” will not automatically be added to the pinned sources. You will still see the previously saved sources in favorites.
